Bladderwrack is a rich source of natural iodine and trace minerals.

Bladderwrack contains significant amounts of mucilage, protein, vitamin C and polysaccharides, including fucoidans, fucans and algin. 

The powdered form may be combined with dried dried garlic and other herbs and spices and sprinkled in soups, stews  and other foods as a flavorful salt alternative.
